Today, nearly $650B is spent on vehicle services using credit cards, debit cards, and ACH where people have to perform and manage the transaction. However, human-centered payments are flawed and can result in costly fraud. Today’s customer billing disputes cannot verify the actual vehicle, the service needs of the vehicle, or validate the vehicle received the service that is being paid for. This creates a security and fraud risk for fleet operators, merchants, and banks.


Car IQ introduces radically new methods for payment authentication and pre/post service validation that mitigates fraud. These new methods for trusted identity enable payments to have regulatory and security elements built into the payment stream and allow cars to send payment instructions, created by Car IQ, directly to any bank or payment network globally.

Car IQ’s payment platform is a comprehensive banking and risk management solution specifically designed for cars. Car IQ has already partnered with several of the largest banks/payment networks in the world, including Citibank, RBC, and Discover Financial Services, to implement a new industry standard for Identity management for machine banking.

What You Will Do

The VP of marketing will be responsible for customer growth at Car IQ. This role will be responsible for campaigns, demand generation, and digital marketing activities, owning the lifecycle in praetorship with sales while managing a budget. As a strategic, hands-on leader, you’ll partner with other leaders and stakeholders across Car IQ to build integrated, highly-targeted campaigns and programs that drive customer acquisition, retention, and expansion. You will work cross-functionally with Sales, Product, and Customer Success to drive highly measurable ROI on investments continually evaluating programs to maximize spend and efficacy. You will also navigate unforeseen obstacles gracefully in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with the company’s goals and objectives
  • Implement data-driven marketing approaches to optimize campaign performance and customer engagement
  • Develop and manage marketing budgets, ensuring effective allocation of resources for maximum impact
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Customer Success, and Operations teams to drive revenue growth and customer satisfaction
  • Identify and pursue strategic partnerships and co-marketing opportunities to expand market reach
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitors, and market dynamics to drive continuous improvement and innovation
  • Own setting and achieving customer acquisition targets and supporting marketing budgets in partnership with the marketing channel owners and Finance
  • Work with Product Management to create a seamless experience, removing pain points and boosting conversion. Be your customers’ advocate


  • 8+ years of experience in marketing roles within the fintech sector, preferably in B2B payments or related industries
  • Proven experience in successfully scaling marketing endeavors during hyper-growth phases, preferably in startup environments
  • Understanding of the fleet market and small business industry, with a keen awareness of the unique challenges and opportunities
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable marketing strategies
  • Ability to use data to drive strategy, execution, and optimization
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively engage diverse audiences
  • A strategic mindset, coupled with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and execution
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field
