Kong’s solutions engineering function is strong but decentralized. This role will unify, elevate, and scale the organization into a world-class, enterprise-facing capability.

You will bridge technical depth with business impact, enabling more effective executive engagement and driving a transition from product-centric selling to platform and outcome-based solutions.

What You’ll Drive

  • Lead and scale a global solutions engineering team of approximately 50, growing meaningfully over the next 12 to 18 months
  • Build a centralized, consistent, and high-performing SE organization
  • Elevate executive engagement across complex enterprise deals
  • Partner with sales to improve pipeline quality, conversion, and deal progression
  • Introduce new capabilities, including a field CTO function for advanced solution selling
  • Strengthen the connection between customer needs and product direction

Who You Are

  • Proven global leader with experience managing teams of 50 to 100 in high-growth technology companies
  • Deep background in solutions engineering, technical sales, or pre-sales leadership
  • Experienced in enterprise environments with complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles
  • Credible with both technical teams and executive buyers
  • A builder who brings structure, accountability, and high standards
  • Energized by transformation, not maintenance
