Like everyone else, my partners and I are working from home these days. We’re spending our days talking to CEOs, VCs and candidates, all of whom are looking forward to the end of this uncertain time. Most are working hard to keep business on track, especially in Sales.
In our recent survey of top tech executives, we found that seventy-five percent (75%) believe that a CRO or VP of Sales is absolutely essential during this time. It’s no surprise. Seasoned revenue-generating leaders are the people who can make a difference as our industry returns to normal. And, with that said, twenty-five percent (25%) of companies are hiring, and most of those are looking for a CRO or VP of Sales. Clearly, companies are betting on top talent in sales to help them navigate the downturn, and the recovery.
If you’re a sales executive, there is no better time than now to polish your LinkedIn profile. It’s common that your profile may languish on the list of “things I plan to get to”. It often falls to the bottom of the list when trying to make the number, finding a quiet place for a conference call in a house full of kids who are home from school, college students who have returned home for the duration, and even parents who may be staying with you. But you need to get to it now, especially as things return to normal and companies are looking to expand their sales leadership teams.
We’ve just published a 10-slide presentation with expert tips on how to make your profile stand out and be found through search. We’ve included tricks to differentiate yourself and current best practices for optimal exposure on the platform. LinkedIn is your resume. It’s the first place companies look to get to know you.
The presentation is free, and available here. Once we get to 100 downloads we’ll donate $1,000 to Second Harvest Foodbank, so we can help those who need it most during this unprecedented time so spread the word.
Stay safe and SELL, SELL, SELL!!
